Doctor Engineer Imen KHOUNI has received her Engineer degree in 1999, her Advanced Studies degree in 2003 and her PhD degree on “Biological Sciences” from University of Sfax-Tunisia and on “Industrial Engineering” from University Paul Cezanne Aix-Marseille-III-France in 2011. She joined the Water Researches and Technologies Centre in 2011 as Assistant Professor.
Her research interest includes Wastewater Treatment and Valorization: Membrane separation, Membrane Bioreactor, optimization of treatment, etc. She teaches both undergraduate and graduate courses in Environmental Technology and Water Treatment. She has published many scientific papers in international journals, co-authored book chapters and presented more than 35 oral conferences.
She is a scientific reviewer of several international journals. She is a Fellow of the African Membrane Society (AMSIC) since 2014, a Fellow of the Tunisian Women Experts network since 2018 as well as a member of the 1st committee of experts in Health Risk Assessment of ANCSEP since 2018.
